George Washington was America's 1st president. He fought in and led the U.S. to a win in the Revolutionary war from April 19, 1775 - September 3, 1783. At that time,  he was the Chief Commander of the U.S. Military.

George was born on Febuary 22, 1732. He live in Westmoreland County, VA, his whole life. As a kid, Washington was obsessed with reading. When he was a young boy, he did not have a favorite book. But, as an adult, his favorite book was Rules of Civility.

FUN FACT: George Washington was the only president that did not live in the White House! And he wore dentures that made him have trouble saying the letter  'S'
